Cleveron takes on New Zealand with The Warehouse

09.05.2019 | Cleveron, Cleveron 401, The Warehouse, New Zealand

Cleveron started cooperation with The Warehouse, New Zealand’s largest general merchandise retailer. The Warehouse installed Cleveron 401 for issuing online orders at Sylvia Park Shopping centre in Auckland, becoming the first retailer in Australasia to pilot the automated click and collect parcel robot. Cooperation also marks Cleveron’s entry to the Australasian market.

“Australasia is our newest focus market, and we are very happy that we can start our activities there in cooperation with a renowned retailer like The Warehouse,” said Arno Kütt, CEO of Cleveron. “We share a common mission – finding solutions and using innovation to improve the customer user experience, to make their lives easier and save them time. We are glad that our Cleveron 401 enables to do just that,” Kütt added.

CEO Pejman Okhovat says The Warehouse is thrilled to bring the technology to New Zealand and offer Kiwis more choice in how they shop. “We’re always looking at how we can interact with our customers to make their lives easier – including new ways to browse for, pay and pick-up items.

“Nearly one in three online orders are now collected in store and we expect this to grow over the next few years. The tower offers people a fast and convenient way to pick up their parcels on the go, which doesn’t require queueing at the service desk.”

Cleveron 401 is a robotics-based parcel tower which acts as a pickup point for online orders. The five meters/16-foot tall parcel robot holds 300 of The Warehouse’s online orders at a time and issues a parcel to the customer within seconds. Cleveron 401 is a self-service pickup solution – the customer only has to scan their order code at the user console. Scanning makes the pickup experience fast and convenient and eliminates the need to wait in a que to collect a parcel. Cleveron 401 is also known as the Pickup Tower, used by the world’s leading retailer Walmart.

Cleveron is the innovation leader in creating software and hardware solutions for the last mile delivery. Cleveron’s robotics-based self-service parcel terminals enable companies to automate and increase the efficiency of their click and collect processes and enhance the customer experience. Cleveron has more than 2200 parcel terminals all over the world, issuing around 600 000 parcels in one month. Cleveron’s solutions are used by the world’s leading retailers.

The Warehouse is New Zealand’s largest general merchandise retailer, known and loved by Kiwis for its wide range of products from clothing, entertainment, technology and music to sporting, gardening and many others. The Warehouse has been providing Kiwis with a bargain since 1982. With 93 stores throughout New Zealand, they employ over 8,500 team members from Kaitaia in the north to Invercargill in the south.
