Walmart de México y Centroamérica (Walmex) installed its first Pickup Tower in Mexico. The tower, located in the Toreo Walmart of Mexico City, allows customers to pick up their online orders within seconds. The „Torre Pickup“ is the first Cleveron robot in Mexico.
Cleveron 401 is a robotics-based parcel tower which acts as a pickup point for online orders. The five meters tall parcel robot holds 300 online orders at a time and eliminates the need to wait in line to receive your parcel. Cleveron 401 is a self-service pickup solution – the customer only has to scan their order code at the user console, after which the robot brings the parcel to the user console. The process takes only seconds.
Cleveron 401 is also used by Walmart U.S., who recently
announced plans to install 1,600 Pickup Towers in stores across the country by
the end of the year. Cooperation with Walmart U.S. began when they announced a
new omnichannel strategy designed to drive sales by strengthening their
e-commerce businesses back in 2015. After the successful pilot program, Walmart
deployed hundreds of Pickup Towers across the United States in the following
years.
